publication date: 09.07.2019The list of Spanish best beaches in Europe according to The Guardian.
Travel writers from British journal The Guardian have presented their list of best beaches in Europe.
They picked up 40 beaches which had a positive impression on them in a number of aspects such as: the quality of the sand, gastronomic deliciacies, attractions, ecology and other.
Five Spanish beaches are part of this ranking. What seems interesting, is that none of them, is located on the islands. All of them are continental and even some of the chosen ones are located in the north of Spain.
La Concha, San Sebastián
In the ranking of TripAdvisor this beach is one of the best in the world. This year it was placed on the fourth position. According to the British newspaper " It's the Chrysler of beaches: instantly recognizable (...) the most beautiful urban beach it Spain"
We can successfully spend all our vacation on the strip between the Old Town and Peine del Viento. The houses and the hotels on the coast submerge us in a classical; and luxury atmosphere. The busy streets add variety and freshness. Close to La Concha ypu can also find other popular beaches like Ondarreta and Zurriola.
El Rompido, Welva, Andalucia
The journalists from the Guardian have particularly appreciated the virtues of La Flecha Spit, which is a kind of an island between Lepe and Cartaya. Normally the visitants go there by boat but there is also a possibility of reachinf it on foot from La Antilla (3 to 4 km). Arount the territory of El Rompido there are golf courses, long beach surrounded by pines, paths and the calm sea, which coast is shielded by La Flecha Sand spit.
Playa de los Muertos, Almeria
Atmospheric, wide, miles upon miles of beach with crystal-clear water and white sand. It is a port of the NAtularl Park of Cabo de Gata-Nihar. Attention: the path which leads from the parking is about 700 m long and it is not particularly flat and easy.
Playa de Poo, Llanes, Asturias
It is situated at the outlet of the stream Arroyo Vallina and it is surrounded by high, rocky walls which make it peaceful as well as fascinating. During the low tide, the sea almost disappears, during high tide it is a natural, esmerald-colour, clean and warm swimming pool. An ideal spot for families with children.
Aiguablava, Begur, Girona
A small beach with turquoise water, white sand, restaurants and diving spots. Another of its advantages - it is located in one of the eight bays placed in a row. All of them have its own characteristics.
The embankment is easily accessed, has familiar character and good location just a few minutes to Begur, one of the main cities for those wishing to do some sightseeing.
It is also worth to pay attention to the rest of the Begurs beaches (Sa Tuna, Aiguafreda, Fonda Beach ...).
